Patients' Rights, and Requests from the Hospital

Six Rights and Related Requests

We provide healthcare that respects the rights of patients.
To enable patients to feel secure about being treated at Nagoya Kyoritsu Hospital, we uphold the following six rights and related requests.
1. Patients' right to have their human rights respected
  • Regardless of their disease, social status, or any other attributes, everyone has a right to receive quality healthcare equally and fairly.Patients have the right to have their individual personalities and values respected, and to express their own opinions.
  • We will not offer our services to people who threaten the human rights of our staff or patients (through violence, verbal abuse, intimidation, or in any other way).
2. Patients' right to receive the best possible treatment safely
  • To ensure that you receive the best possible treatment safely, please tell us about your health as accurately as you can.
  • To keep our hospital environment comfortable and safe, we will not offer our services to people who cannot follow our rules and our staff's instructions.
3. Patients' right to privacy
  • When our staff handle personal information provided by patients about their illnesses and information gathered via their treatments, they always take the utmost care and follow our rules.If your contact or other information has changed, please let us know immediately.We do not provide personal information to third parties without the patients' consent.
  • We sometimes use treatment results, etc. for educational and research to improve our treatment further.When we do so, we take the utmost care to protect their privacy.
4. Patients' right to know about their treatment
  • You have the right to be have your treatment explained to you.
  • Please follow our rules regarding disclosing information about treatment.
5. Patients' right to have their treatment explained to them until they understand and accept it
  • You can ask us to explain your examinations and treatment to you in an easy-to-understand way, including how necessary, effective, and risky they will be, and whether there are other options.
  • We will explain about any foreseeable serious complications, but cannot explain every possibility.If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to ask us anytime.
6. Patients' right to choose their treatment
  • You can decide about your treatment, etc. yourself.You can ask for second opinions from multiple specialists, and can also transfer to another healthcare institution.(We will provide the necessary documents.) You can refuse treatment that you do not want.
  • We will not treat you any differently for having asked another doctor for a second opinion.
  • We will not offer our services to people who do not pay their hospitalization and treatment fees on time, even if they wish to be treated at our hospital.
